Our card badges are usually printed using Hot Foil Blocking onto 1.25mm thick coloured card. They can also be printed in four colour process onto white card, which can subsequently be Hot Foil Blocked if required.

Card Badge Shapes and Colours

As you will see on the Card Badge Price page, there are 24 different colours available including white and 20 standard shapes.

You can see a preview of your chosen card shape in the correct colour, once you have clicked on a shape and a card colour.

Custom Card Badge Shapes

If you would like a custom shape, we can make a bespoke cutter for you. The maximum size your badge can be is 65mm x 75mm. The one-off cutter charge is usually £50 (for very complex shapes, the cutter might be more expensive). Please mention that you require a bespoke shape in the Special Instructions box.

Hot Foil Blocking of Card Badges

The printing of your text and other images onto the Card Badges is usually done by Hot Foil Blocking (four colour process litho printing is also available). Hot Foil Blocking is considered a print finishing process in the printing trade, which is why it appears under the heading "Card Badges Finishing" on the Card Badges Prices page.

The foil colours available are: Metallic Gold, Metallic Silver, Flat Black, Holographic Silver and Flat White. (Security Foil, which makes forgery very difficult, can be specified if the badge has a very high value).

Numbering and Stringing of Card Badges

The Card Badges can be sequentially numbered – they will be packed in number order. Please specify the starting number in Special Instructions.

Usually Card Badges are strung – there is a choice of string colours: Black, Yellow, White, Blue and Red. Please specify the string colour in Special Instructions.

Production times for printing Card Badges

The following choices of turnaround times are available. Please note that if you require a quantity of Card Badges in excess of 1,250, we may require an extra day or two.

Express turnaround – your Card Badge printing order will be despatched in seven working days.

Express Plus turnaround – your Card Badge printing order will be despatched in four working days.

Economy turnaround – your Card Badge printing order will be despatched in fourteen working days.

Super Economy turnaround – your Card Badge printing order will be despatched in twenty eight working days.

For a day to be treated as the first working day, we require your printing order and payment along with print quality artwork before 10am. Alternatively, for an additional charge, you can delay the printing order, payment and print quality artwork cut-off time to 3.30pm.

Artwork and PDF requirements for Card Badges

• We operate a PDF workflow, so please supply your artwork as a Press Quality PDF. If you prefer, we can create a PDF for you, in which case we will email a proof to you for approval. There is an additional charge for this PDF creation service of £20 plus VAT.
• We need a "quiet area" to ensure nothing important is too near to the edge of the finished item; so please leave a 5mm inner margin for anything other than backgrounds.
• If your Card Badges are to be printed in full colour, please supply the files for the full colour image in CMYK. If you require foil blocking, please supply the foil blocked image in Pantone colour.
• Please embed fonts or convert all of your text to shapes.
